How about a 3 month update. Is it holding up? What do you think about it?
Is that on the back or side wall?
What size 2x 4 did you use
This is so neat...WOW what a awesome job
Glad you are here - enjoy concrete work!
Like the video - what happens with the expansion joints? does the wood get left in there? if so, when you placed them are they submersed from the service rather than sitting at the service?
It's beautiful. This is great for DIY'ers. However, you have some amazing specialized equipment. That equipment comes with a cost. Plus how often would I be using such equipment? In my case, it would be better to hire someone. This was very enjoyable and fascinating to watch. Thanks for the post.
Amazing job!! 🫡 How many bricks did you have to use to accomplish you are fire pit?
DUDE! Thank you! I've been going back and forth between morter and cement it never crossed my mind to just top it off with the morter. PERFECT solution for that sculpting!
Not gonna lie tho, I think you covered up some of your detailing with that last dusting of mortar man. But seriously everything else is perfect, I'm super excited to do mine now!
Glad I could help!
I wish you sold the plans for this
Does anyone know the climate/state they are in? Thanks, such a clever way to do this!
Southeastern United States
What do you do with the wood you mill?
Right now I have a whole bunch or lumber drying. The wood that is already dried I am slowly using it for my woodworking projects. However, there’s no way I can use all of it so I may start selling some locally if anyone is interested.
@@SimonSaysDIY How long does it take to dry?
How much did this cost you in total?
I had the bricks so not very much. But if you were to buy the bricks and the mortar, it would likely be around $250-300
Is that a framing nailer?
Yes it is. 👍🏻
Is that framing nailer ?
Yes 👍🏻
where's your update?
Great video
Thank you! 😊
Great job.
Thank you! 😁
Can you please share where you got/plans to build that miter saw table?
If you keep 1 dead bee in the bottle, it will attract more.
That’s true, it makes a big difference!
Thank you so much for this awesome video! It helped me a great deal! Thank you!!!!!
Glad it helped! Thank you! 😁
This is exactly what I was looking for! 😊
I'm so glad! Thank you! 😁
How far away from the fire pit is your legs when swinging with a fire ?
It is a bit close if you are swing while the fire is going. I would recommend not having a large fire going. 😊
Wondering what you did with the extra cattle panel.
I used it as a trellis for some pole beans. Works great! 👍🏻
Nice work tho for sure 👍
Thanks! 😃
@@SimonSaysDIY Yes sir 🫡
How big was your frame opening for the bifold door?
Do you think that gravel is still gravel once you pour in the concrete?? I think the concrete turns that gravel into concrete and I don’t think the ends on the post rot because of all that concrete around them lol frost won’t push that big thing out I install fences so kinda dug a lot of holes for 4x4’s here in Pa and it’s not that serious lol ❤🫡
Thanks for the tips! I imagine the concrete would soak into the gravel and bond with it. But you’re probably right, that post won’t rot any time soon.
@@SimonSaysDIY lol no they won’t not in our life time at least lol 😂
That’s a lot more work than needed lol
😆
I am so sorry Simon I did not intend to call you Tim
Tim, I am new to this so I need a material list with measurements. That would help me a lot.
My husband and I both enjoyed the video and found it well done. Absolutely my only quibble was that I wanted to "Mom" you both into wearing sturdier shoes that would prevent splinters or accidents. :)
Haha 🤣 yeah you are probably right! :) Thanks!
Did she say “wicked deep?”
Yes I think so! 😂
Very useful information 👌 I am planning on trying this myself.
All the best! Thanks!
How much did it cost in materials for a closet this size? I need one in a room that I have in my basement.
Depending on what type of door you buy, probably around $200-300.
What a great idea! I dig it.
Glad you like it! Thanks! 😁
Man your video is amazing thank you 👍🙏
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Personally, I think he did a fantastic job and this is amazingly easy. Definitely inspirational. Hope you had fun with the kids. Thanks and have a great day.❤❤
Thanks so much! 😁
the best
Thanks! 😄
Whole driveway is one-piece, no crack control joints ?
A week or two after doing the driveway I rented a concrete saw and cut a few relief joints in the slab and it has held up great 👍🏻
Love this ❤
Thanks! 😄
How are these holding up?
just wondering, why everyone uses wood instead of like a metal bar?
I've been buying and using carpenter bee traps for several years now and the main problem with them is getting bees to go into them initially if it's a new trap. Once a dead bee or two is trapped, the scent will attract more but it can take a while to get the initial bee "seed" trapped. What I did this year was get some bee attractant off amazon and it worked AMAZINGLY well but my traps fro last year are falling apart so I may just DIY a few more this year. I've got plenty of spare wood. Also, we have a $1 per bee bounty at my house so the kids will be out there with tennis racquets going to town.
Are the pipes just loose in the hole or fastened some how?
They seem to go in tightly but I have had a few that ended up feeling loose and I just screwed a metal screw through the 2x4 and into the pipe and that seemed to fix it.
@@SimonSaysDIY yeah I was thinking of that solution as well. Thanks for replying 😊
Awesome idea I’m going to do this also 👏👏
Go for it! Thanks!
So no clamping the vive?
I found that it will climb up on its own if I help it out and wrap it around the trellis once a week or so.
Very nice job keep up the good work!
Thanks! 😄
Wondering how well a riding mower went in and out and at what angel your ramp is? My land slops downward and away from my shed and is about 24" off the ground where the lowest part of the door is. I'm thinking I may have to build a 2 part ramp.
It seems to do great at this grade but I have thought about putting sand paper tape down to avoid slipping when it is wet. Thanks and good luck with yours!
